March Programs and Events

Welcome to spring! Well, okay... it doesn't feel like it quite yet, but we are more than ready to welcome some warmer temperatures and longer days of sunshine. If you haven't stopped by the library yet this year, now's the perfect time! We've got plenty of programs for adults, children, teens, tweens, and everyone in between. Check out what we have planned for March!

ADULT PROGRAMS

The Psychic Highway  I  March 2 from 7-8pm
Author Michael Keene presents his new book, The Psychic Highway: How the Erie Canal Changed America, all about the origins of the Erie Canal intertwined with the historical, religious and social issues of the day.

Adult Writers Group  I   March 12 at 1:30  
Do you write? Interested in sharing your ideas, critiques, and skills with others? Whether you write novels, short stories, scripts, or more, we'd love to have you!

Adult Craft Class  I   March 7 from 6-7:30
Make a beautiful and fun craft project under the guidance of our own Becky Sloane, craft maven extraordinaire! Becky will help you create your own magical Fairy Door. Open your own door to crafting fun and excitement at the Newark Public Library. Join us at 6:00 pm. Register at newarklibrary.org or by calling the library at 315-331-4370. Hurry, reservations are limited! 

**There will be a small fee for supplies, payable at the class.


Gadget Guide  I   March 14th & March 28th from 6-7pm
Have a device that's giving you trouble? Let us take a look and teach you how to use it!

Chess Club  I  March 21 from 4-6pm
Every 3rd Monday, come play chess with us. Meetings will be upstairs, by non-fiction.

Mahjongg Club  I  Every Tuesday from 5-7pm
Join us for a few rounds of Mahjongg!



Resume Help  I  Every Wednesday from 1-2 pm and 4-5 pm
Looking for a job? Looking to advance your career? Then you need a stellar resume to show off your skills and abilities. Whether you are stating from scratch, or looking to punch up something you've already got, we can help. Come see Graham on Wednesdays from 1-2 or 4-5 in the Fayetta Hall Small Meeting Room. Call ahead to schedule an appointment to be first in line.

Cards in the Library  I  Every Thursday from 4-6pm 
Join us on Thursday afternoons to play cards! 
1st Thursday: Euchre
2nd Thursday: Cribbage

Gadgets & Games  I  March 7 & 21 from 6-7 pm
Featuring our PS4 and other new games and gadgets such as MaKey MaKey, Lego WeDo Robitics, and more! 

Minecraft Club  I  March 9 from 6-7pm         
Play Minecraft with your friends on our computers (Limited number of spaces available).

Girl Scout Literacy Night  I  March 14 from 6-7:15pm 
Join us for an evening of stories and activities led by Girl Scout Troop 40530!

Pokemon Club  I  March 23 from 6-7pm  
Bring your cards to battle and trade with friends.

Ultimate Building  I  March 29 from 1-3pm
Ultimate building with Minecraft and LEGOs!

After School Snack  I  Mondays & Wednesdays from 3-4:30pm
Enjoy a snack while you hang out at the library after school (18 and under please).

Preschool Storytime  I  Every Tuesday from 10-11am   
An hour of stories, songs, dancing, and fun!
