new@New

It's all about new at Newark: new year, new programs, new faces... all better ways to serve the community in 2016. You'll see some new staff around to help you:

Our January calendar is full of programs for kids, teens, and adults - all the old favorites are back, as well as some new additions!

Ongoing events

Mondays and Wednesdays @ the Community Room: If you are 18 or under, join us for After School   Snacks from 3 to 4:30 pm.

Tuesdays

@ the Children's Room: Song, stories and fun for little ones! Join us at 10 am for Preschool Storytime*!

@ the Community Room: Mahjongg Club* meets for a few rounds from 5-7 pm.



Wednesdays @ Fayetta Hall Meeting Room: Come to the library for Resume Help from 1-2 and 4-5 pm.

Thursdays @ the Community Room: Cards in the Library from 4 to 6 pm features a different card game each Thursday. Come for your favorite, or learn something new!

@ the Community Room: Join Becky Sloane for Adult Craft Night* from 6 to 7:30 pm - a different craft project each month!

@ the Teen Room: Play around with different technologies with fellow nerds at Tech Night from 6 to 7 pm.

Jan. 6th @ the Community Room: An Upstate New York Frame of Mind: Fiction Set in the Empire State reading & book discussion series facilitated by Joe O'Toole.  EVENT IS FULL.

Jan. 8th @ the Community Room: Six times a year, the Friends of the Newark Public Library host a luncheon. They invite a presenter to discuss books or areas of local interest. Retired minister Tim Johnson will present at this month's program. Hosted from 12-1 pm. Click here to register.

Jan. 11th @ the Community Room:  Join us for Little Engineers: An hour of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities for kids! Starting at 6 pm.


Jan. 13th @ the Teen Room: Join your friends for Minecraft Club* from 6-7 pm. Space is limited

Jan. 20th @ the Community Room: Art Project* night features a different art project each month, beginning at 6pm.

Jan. 25th @ the Community Room: Little Engineers meets again for an hour of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities for kids! Starting at 6 pm.

Jan. 27th @ the Children's Room: Pokemon Club! Bring your cards to battle and trade with friends. Starting at 6 pm.


The Fayetta and Community rooms at the Newark Public Library are available for use for any member of the public. Call us at 331-4370 if you'd like to reserve either.
