New Logo

We now have a new and improved logo, to go along with our new and improved library. With the support of local businesses, we had been accepting submissions for a new logo design from community members since August. Prizes for winning entries were donated by the library, Ameriprise Financial, Graham’s LP Gas, Plassche Lumber, the Mead-Molloy Agency, and Reliant Federal Credit Union.

Prizes were awarded to Nancy Brevet and Daniel Barnes for their submissions.  A committee then worked with local graphic artist, Kenneth Townsend, to create the final product. Ken Townsend incorporated the owl into the logo, with the wings resembling pages of an open book. The goal was to link the Newark library logo and colors with the other libraries in the Pioneer Library System, which includes libraries in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, and Livingston counties. The owl with pages for wings as a logo, however, is unique to Newark.

We have a new logo thanks to many people, including Kenneth Townsend, the library staff, and Newark community members.
