Beat the August Heat at Newark Public Library
The heat of
August is now upon us, but fortunately your local library has many ways to cool
down.
Firstly, we
are air conditioned and serve as a designated public cooling station for anyone
in need of escaping dangerously hot weather.
Of course, everyone is welcome to enjoy our air conditioned facility
whenever we are open. While you are here
you can read one of our many magazines or newspapers in our comfy reading area,
play a board game or Chess, or use one of our many public computers.
Gone are
the days a librarian will yell at you for having food or drink in the
library. You can now get both while at
the library. We have a refrigerator full
of cold non-alcoholic beverages, iced-coffee from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters,
and some snacks in our vending machine. On
Friday August, 26, at 3:30pm you can even buy a cold beverage and watch a live
music concert by the wonderful VB Duet in our Community Room!
Along with
comfy reading spaces for adults, we have an AMAZING Children’s area. If you have little ones and worry about them
overheating outside, bring them to the library.
We have little shopping carts, bean bags, a play-room, Lego and Lego
Duplo walls, computers, and many other toys to entertain them with. And, of course, we have a smorgasbord of books.
Have a
great end of summer and stay cool!
