Adult Reading and Book Discussion Program


We are hosting another intellectually stimulating adult reading and book discussion program series. The themed topic is Women and the World Wars. A total of five different novels will be read during this program series. At each meeting, Joe O'Toole will lead an engaging discussion on the various responses to the conflicts, suffering, and struggles caused by direct or indirect consequences of war.

The meetings will be held in the community room of the Newark Public Library on every second Wednesday of the month, at 6:30 p.m.This is a free program, but registration is required. You can register on our website on our events calender (link below), or you can call the library at 331-4370.

October 8th-Introductions
November 12th- The Return of the Soldier by Rebecca West
December 10th- A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
January 14th- The Madonnas of Leningrad by Debra Dean
February 11th- Dragon Seed by Pearl Buck
March 1th- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
